There are a number of reveals in the back half of Horizon that piqued my interest and drove me to see the story to the end. I continually found myself more engaged as I sunk more time into the experience. This isn't a title with an amazing concept that falls apart as you dig deeper. The opening hours are on the slow side, but Horizon feels like the exception to the norm in the video game industry. As the story progresses, you slowly unravel the mysteries of Aloy and the machines that inhabit the surrounding lands, and you quickly learn how they're intertwined. You play as Aloy, a motherless child who was cast from her tribe due to her irregular birth. While humans still roam the lands, they are merely tribal folk with minimal understanding of the technology from both the past and present. Set in a distant future, 1,000 years from the present day, the world has fallen to ruin and is overrun by zoomorphic robots. With incredibly fun gameplay and a story that delivers more and more intrigue as you delve further into its mysteries, the only thing holding it back is its presentation.Įven during the initial E3 reveal, it was clear that Guerrilla Games had something special with Horizon. Where Death Stranding felt like a PC port masterpiece with a faltering story that couldn't match the top-notch production values, Horizon is the polar opposite. Both games utilize the Decima Engine, but despite these similarities, the two titles couldn't be more different. Sony, in its continuation to penetrate the PC player base, now releases yet another juggernaut from its long list of console exclusives, Horizon: Zero Dawn. It wasn't that long ago that I was tasked with reviewing the PC release for Death Stranding. You can use this to see what pages on the Internet link to the page you’re looking for. The version released for the Wii incorporates motion controls and also features some puzzles exclusive to that platform. Some cutscenes require the player to participate in quick-time events. These fights may have puzzle-solving elements and often require the player to use Lara's new "adrenaline dodge" ability, which slightly slows down time when the opponent charges at her while in an "enraged" state. Some boss fights have been made a separate enclosed stage rather than being part of the exploration as in the original version. Combat is similar to that of the first game, though the player must now manually activate targeting. This type of gameplay replaces the key-retrieval and block-pushing puzzles of the original almost entirely. Garin Mazaika, Art Department: Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Anniversary. In some cases the developer also needs to make some specific changes for 64-bit support or needs to wait for specific libraries, that the add-in relies on, to be recompiled for 64-bit. The main reason for the original recommendation was compatibility with existing add-ins for Office.įor an add-in to work with the 64-bit version of Office, it needs to be recompiled by the developer specifically for the 64-bit version of Office. When should I consider to still use the 32-bit version? The file size limitation in Outlook is determined by whether you are using an ANSI or Unicode formatted pst-file. There also isn’t a 2GB file size limit for the 32-bit version of Outlook like there is for Excel and Project. The functionality within Outlook is the same and there is also no (noticeable) performance increase by using the 64-bit edition. When it comes to Outlook, using the 64-bit version of Outlook does not have any direct benefits. The 64-bit version of Office also offers a security benefit as it always has Hardware Data Execution Prevention (DEP) enabled (although this can be enabled for the 32-bit version as well). Similarly, when you are working with large Word documents or PowerPoint presentations that are very rich with multimedia (pictures, videos, complex animations, etc…) or large tables or other embedded objects, the 64-bit version can be of help. Using the 64-bit version of Office will for instance allow you to work with large data sets like Excel workbooks or Project files that are over 2GB in size. With the 32-bit version of Office, the application can only use up to 2GB of memory, even when more is available in your computer. In general, the main benefit of using the 64-bit version of Office, is that it can use access memory when needed. Benefits of using the 64-bit version of Office You can find instructions for this at the bottom of this guide. Luckily, it is easy enough to select which bit version you want to install in case you do not want the default one. Although the considerations for using 32-bit vs 64-bit are the same for Office 2010, 20, the default for new installations of these versions will remain 32-bit for now. Personally, and mainly from an Outlook perspective, I’ve seen very few instances over the past years where using the 64-bit version of Office would have caused issues, so I’m happy that Microsoft now finally decided that the turning point has been reached.įor Office 2019 and Microsoft 365 Apps (previously known as Office 365), the default for new installations has now been set to 64-bit. Where can I download the 64-bit version of Office?Īs of the release of Office 2019, Microsoft is now recommending to install the 64-bit version of Office unless you have a specific need which still requires the 32-bit version. What are the downsides or benefits when I install the 64-bit version?.Does Microsoft still recommend installing the 32-bit version?.I seem to recall that Microsoft used to recommend to install the 32-bit version, even on a 64-bit version of Windows but that was some years ago. It offers to install the 32-bit version but I know there is also a 64-bit version available. I’ve just installed Windows 10 on my computer and I’m now about to install Office. I found this tool years ago and still use it from time to time. If you want to use Eyedropper on windows with a tool like Paint, you can do the math with the ratios explained above, or just use the RGB value whenever possible. Hue is endpoint-exclusive (because 360° = 0°) whereas Saturation and Luminance are endpoint-inclusive (because 1.0 is achievable). In Windows, the Hue, Saturation, and Luminance ranges are rescaled so that they go from 0 to 240. On the other hand, Saturation and Luminance are floating point Reached because Hue is cyclical, so a value of 360° is equivalent toĠ°. Range for Hue is an angle, normalized to be greater than or equal toĠ° and strictly less than 360°. Similarly, if you were to upload a CMYK image to the internet. The reasoning is explained on the windows blog. Before you prepare designs for Printify Mockup Generator, check out RGB vs CMYK and how. Luckily, the game's core features are able to overpower its mediocre graphics, so they don't take too much away from the game. There are also some slight issues with the frame rate when lots of allies and enemies are fighting and blocking on the screen at the same time. The environments are repetitive and could definitely use some anti-aliasing, as could the in game character models. The character models in cutscenes are done very nicely, and the intro movie is very impressive, but "jaggies" and a lack of varied textures make the game look too much like a PSX game as opposed to a 2nd generation PS2 title. Graphics in Way of the Samurai are pretty weak, probably the biggest disappointment in the game. However, the developers have also added a splash of interesting weaponry and a side-order portion of replay value, leading to a hearty meal of a game that will definitely get gamers going back to the table for seconds. Many will note that a complex battle system and multi-dimensional storyline are the main ingredients to this rather short, graphically impaired samurai delicacy. Taking a different approach from the Tenchu series, Acquire has delivered a game that combines the combat of Tenchu (or Bushido Blade) with a "Choose Your Own Adventure" book, making for quite an interesting experience. A battle mode, which allows two players to fight against one another, can also be unlocked. Upon completion, additional robes and faces can be unlocked with which to customize your samurai. A blacksmith in town will repair or upgrade weapons for a price, though he too is affected by your actions and a loose tongue can leave you with no one to fix your damaged blades. The save system breaks from tradition in that your saved game is actually deleted from the memory card once you load it, preventing players from reloading past games should they be foolish enough to get killed. Repeatedly clashing blades with an enemy will eventually cause the weapon to break. The former is represented by small blocks in the lower corner of the screen. Each weapon is rated in various categories, from durability to attack power. However, the weapon you currently wield affects the moves you're capable of performing in combat. A combination of quick and strong attacks, jumps, and blocks lead to the discovery and mastery of more powerful moves. Pressing a directional button along with the block button can cause an opponent to overbalance or stumble, creating an opening in which to strike. Adding to the character's enigmatic nature (your actions largely define his personality) is the player's ability to customize the overall look of the samurai before beginning the adventure.During combat, your character is capable of performing a wide array of attacks and blocks, the resulting effectiveness of which is determined by the timing and attack stance. Action-and-consequence plays a vital role in the game and hastily made decisions can greatly affect the duration of your stay in Rokkotsu Pass. During conversations with the local populace, you're presented with a number of different replies and your choices will alter the demeanor and attitude of the other characters. The part your character plays is entirely up to you the branching storyline makes provisions for the samurai to choose to join either side in the conflict, or simply to aid the villagers, if and when needed. As a masterless samurai, you happen upon a small village embroiled in a violent conflict between two clans. Developers at Acquire, whose past credits include the Tenchu series of games, are the people responsible for the action-adventure title Way of the Samurai.
